Latinam Nox atra rerum contegit terrae colores omnium: nos confitentes poscimus te, iuste iudex cordium, Ut auferas piacula sordeque mentis abluas, donesque, Christe, gratiam ut arceantur crimina. Mens, ecce, torpet impia, quam culpa mordet noxia; obscura gestit tollere et te, Redemptor, quaerere. Repelle tu caliginem intrinsecus quam maxime, ut in beato gaudeat se collocari lumine. Sit, Christe, rex piisime, tibi Patrique gloria cum Spiritu Paraclito, in sempiterna saecula. Amen.	English The black night of things conceals the colours of all things of the earth: We confessing ask Thee, Just Judge of Hearts, That Thou may remove the sins and the sordidnesses of the mind, may Thou wash away, and may Thou grant, O Christ, grace so that sins may be kept away. The impious mind, behold, is torpid, the noxious fault takes hold upon it; dark things, it is eager to lift and Thee, O Redeemer, to seek. Repel, Thou, the darkness from within, as much as possible, so that he may rejoice for himself to be placed in the blessed light. May it be, O Christ, king most loving, and to Thee Father, Glory with the Spirit Paraclete, in everlasting ages. Amen.
